This receiver and amplifier is a great choice for setting up a home theater system.
The Design
The entire back panels speaker connections and inputs and outputs. The build quality is like a tank with solid panels and damping pads at the seams to eliminate any kind of vibrations.
Inputs and outputs
- 11 input connections
- 1 phono input
- 5 rec-out lines
- 8 composite and S-Video inputs
- 3 coax digital
- 5 optical digital inputs
- 3 component video
- 7.1 analog input
- RS-232 port
The 4802R gives the option of being a 5.1 receiver instead of 7.1, using the Surround Back channels as a Stereo Zone2 instead.
How Many Watts?
It has 7 x 125watts, full audio band, into 8 ohms.
The Functions

The buttons are a good size, logically placed, and for the most part are shaped to distinguish them.

The Denon AVR-4802R has a good sound. Nothing spectacular but better than many.
