Ampex 517 Vintage Bookshelf Speakers Made in U.S.A. (1970s)
For a vintage pair of speakers, the Ampex 517 is an excellent choice! Known more for manufacturing reel-to-reel decks, Ampex did dole out a few speakers as well. Made in the U.S. during the 70s, the Model 517s have a vintage feel with reddish brown cloth grilles and solid wooden boxes. They're in good shape for their age, with the "Ampex" badges still present and accounted for on both speakers. Not much is known about them in terms of specs, but they do produce a really nice sound that's perfect for a testing vintage audio equipment or for a secondary speaker system in a garage, office, or den.
