100% tested and functional. Cleaned inside and out; worn parts replaced as needed. Tape heads cleaned and demagnetized; transport assembly and controls serviced using WD-40 Specialist Electrical Contact Cleaner (safe for electronics). Belts replaced, pinch rollers reconditioned, and lubrication applied to capstan and motor bearings. Transport calibrated for smooth auto-reverse operation.

My Sony 400 disc player stopped working. I watched YouTube videos and came across this website. Since 90% of failures are the belts I decided to try to fix it myself with the help of the video. It was the belts and after installing them it works great again. I received the belts really quickly and with no prior knowledge took the case off with help from the video and installed the belts myself. So happy to have my player working again.
