Sony CDP-C700 5-Disc Carousel CD Changer
The CDP-C700 comes from 1989, when Sony was still putting serious converter hardware into mid-line changers. It holds five discs on a rotating carousel, plays through them continuously, and lets you load a full evening of music without touching the unit again. Full-width chassis, real front panel, no plastic-and-air construction.
What This Unit Does

Condition
Very good, 8 out of 10. Light handling wear consistent with age. All controls and buttons present and functional, display fully lit and legible.
Testing and Service
This unit has been recapped, the laser assembly cleaned, drive belts replaced, and the mode switch cleaned. After service, the following were confirmed working: power-on, carousel rotation and disc indexing, tray open and close, disc loading and playback across all five positions, track skip and search, shuffle, repeat, program, front panel display, and analog RCA output.
The recap is the meaningful part. Electrolytic capacitors dry out on 35-year-old gear whether the unit is used or not, and replacing them is what separates a player that works on the bench from one that's still working in five years.
