Kenwood TK-88 Vintage Solid State AM FM Stereo Receiver (1966-68) (AS IS)
The TK-88 is a beautiful Kenwood receiver. It has a good, warm vintage sound that you'd expect from an amplifier from the late 1960s. We don't have a lot of information about the model, but it is one of the first Solid State Kenwood receivers - definitely a vintage gem worthy of attention. The front panel is a beautiful mix of black, silver, and wood, making it a standout visually as well. This system currently has no power and had issues with smoke coming out the right side when it was turned on, so we recommend it either for use of parts or as a unique repair project!
CONDITION
As is, not working, for parts or repair.
At Spencertified, we are experts on a wide variety of electronics. Unfortunately, we do not have the time or resources necessary to fix everything that comes in our shop. So, rather than throwing it away, we give our customers an opportunity to tinker.
Cosmetic Condition: Good.
Functional Condition: No power. DO NOT PLUG IN!
Technician notes: Left channel was quieter than the right channel during initial testing. Swapped out speaker output resistors (right side to left). During the next round of testing, there was sound, but smoke came from the right side. There is blue tape inside the unit that marks where the smoke location is.
