MCS Series 3531 Stereo Cassette Deck (1979–1981)
The MCS Series 3531 is a high-fidelity stereo cassette deck designed for accurate playback and dependable recording performance. Sold through JCPenney under their Modular Component Systems (MCS) brand, the 3531 was produced in Japan and shares much of its design and performance heritage with Technics-built units from the same era. This model features a clean brushed-aluminum front panel, dual analog VU meters, and smooth mechanical transport controls. With support for normal and CrO₂ tape types, it delivers warm, detailed sound suitable for both casual listening and serious recording setups.
