The Akai GX-4000D is a classic stereo reel-to-reel tape recorder known for its long-life Glass & X’Tal Ferrite (GX) heads and robust transport design. Supporting 7-inch reels and multiple tape speeds, it delivers excellent clarity and long-term head life, making it a favorite for both playback and recording. A desirable Akai deck for technicians or collectors familiar with reel-to-reel servicing. This unit powers on and the transport functions operate, but there is currently no audio output. Please note that this unit is being sold as-is.
