Bose Wave Radio CD Loading Repair Kit — 4 Capacitors
Fixes the most common Bose Wave failure: the CD won't load, won't eject, or gets pulled in partway and pushed right back out.
The problem isn't the mechanism — it's the small electrolytic capacitors on the main board in the bottom of the unit. These are 20+ years old now, and electrolytics don't age well. The electrolyte dries out, capacitance drops, and internal resistance climbs. The board can still power up and the motor still turns, but the loading circuit no longer holds a clean enough signal to complete the sequence. That's why the unit acts like it's trying and failing rather than doing nothing at all. Replacing all four restores normal loading.
What's included
- 2 × 10µF 25V electrolytic capacitors
- 1 × 1µF 50V electrolytic capacitor
- 1 × 220µF 10V electrolytic capacitor
- Parts only. No belts, tools, or hardware. You'll need your own soldering equipment.
Compatible models: [list]
Difficulty: Advanced. The main board sits in the bottom half of the unit, so the case has to come apart and the board has to come out. Through-hole desoldering required. If you've never desoldered before, this isn't the project to learn on — send it to us instead.
