Nikko STA-501 Vintage Solid State Stereo Receiver Made in Japan (1970)
Nikko isn't the most well-known brand, but all of their equipment is very well designed and laid out. For those not familiar with them, Nikko was the largest supplier of circuit breakers for JNR (Japan National Railroad) and that gave them the start in the electronics industry. The STA-501 in particular has a beautiful, warm sound; rated at 18 watts, it's not heaping with power, but it does sound really nice when hooked up to a pair of decent speakers. Plus, the design is very classy and understated. The black and silver front panel give it a clean, industrial look that gives it a stately air. Definitely a gem of vintage audio!
