Sony GV-500 Video8 8mm Video Walkman VCR Video TV Recorder (1991) (UNTESTED, AS IS)
Sony's 80s and 90s equipment are engineering masterpieces, and the GV-500 is no exception. With a look like a retro cyberdeck, this is a portable 8mm video tape player and recorder from the early 1990s. It features a built-in TV tuner (for analog signals only), a tilting backlit LCD screen, and even the ability to record if you have a compatible camera.
Uniquely, even the front pulls down, and you see the eject button, controls for the menu, and timer options. But that's not all! You also get buttons behind the screen to turn the LCD on and off, change the input, and adjust tape functions. The right side also has a set of RCA jacks that can work as either an input or output. Whether you're a lover of all things vintage, a collector of unique items, or simply want a system to watch 8mm video tapes, the GV-500 is the perfect choice!
Please not that you would need a compatible AC Power Adaptor (like AC-V30) or a DC Adaptor (like DCP-77) in order to charge the battery. We do not have the correct power adaptor to test this unit, so it is being sold untested, as-is.
If you want to get a closer look at the functionality of the Sony GV-500 (and see an attempted repair of one), you can check out this video from This Does Not Compute here.
