Own one of Sony’s most collectible early Walkman models with the WM-F2 portable cassette recorder. Based on the compact WM-2 platform, it adds FM stereo reception, cassette recording, a tape counter, and automatic recording-level control. It can record from the built-in FM tuner or a compatible external microphone or audio source, while two headphone outputs allow shared listening. 100% tested and functional. Cleaned inside and out; worn parts replaced as needed. The playback/record head was cleaned and demagnetized, while the capstan and pinch roller were carefully serviced. The drive belt, center gear, tape transport, battery compartment, FM tuner, and audio connections were inspected. Controls and appropriate electrical contacts were cleaned with WD-40 Specialist Electrical Contact Cleaner, which is safe for electronics. Playback speed, recording operation, and automatic recording level were tested with compatible cassettes.
