It has a digital optical output, allowing you to dub digitally to a CD-R or to hook the SL-MC4 up straight into the digital input of a Dolby Digital receiver. It also features CD Text Compatibility. This means that the player will display song titles and artist names automatically, if they're encoded on the CD. What's more, if you come across a CD that wasn't encoded with that information, you can input the info manually - a process made significantly easier by the 10-key pad on the front panel.
